The Saint Luke’s Foundation Awards Veggie U $12,000 to Create a Veggie U Classroom Garden Program for Early Childhood (June 19, 2012)

With a vision that positions The Saint Luke’s Foundation as a philanthropic innovator and catalyst that supports programs that significantly advance its mission and have the potential to be locally, regionally and nationally recognized and replicated, the Foundation has awarded Veggie U a $12,000 grant to underwrite a portion of the cost to create and pilot a Classroom Garden Program for Early Childhood. 

Veggie U, Hub55, and Cleveland Monsters Form Partnership to Benefit Local Students (February 16, 2017)

With a $10,000 gift from the Monsters Community Fund, the Cleveland Monsters have initiated a partnership with Veggie U and Hub55 that ensures the continuation of classroom garden education for Cleveland Metropolitan elementary students. Through this collaboration, the three organizations will focus on programming that highlights the benefits of healthy eating and science-based education.

The Veggie U classroom garden program is underway in over 70 CMSD elementary schools, including all second grade classes and dozens of special needs classrooms. This unique program was designed to teach children about nutrition and the importance of making wise food choices, as well as introduce them to the concepts required in state science standards.
